Wrapping up 2016, Chen Design Associates is ecstatic to announce that we’ve moved our studio to Oakland, and are proud to call home an expansive, light-filled historical building at 1759 Broadway. We want to specially thank our friends Peter Markatos and Tyler Moore (formerly partnered as MM) for what CDA Principal Josh Chen called “a once in a lifetime opportunity we couldn’t pass up,” in assuming this beautiful space as our own. We deeply admire and respect the creative work Peter and Tyler have consistently churned out over their firm’s 10-year existence, and as they each move on to new challenges, we’re honored to carry on their commitment to design excellence here in The Uptown.
We look forward to welcoming our clients and friends in our new location when we’re all settled. Oakland’s city center is undergoing a kind of renaissance and we’re excited to be part of it. Along with the East Bay’s long-standing vibrant art scene, innovative restaurants and cultural diversity, we’re excited that this new space enables us to grow our creative team and capabilities in the years to come.
